When Children Write the Books
StoryWell has published and printed books that began as stories from children. We worked with each child, and in some cases an adult author, to bring the story to life. An eight-year-old boy imagines a futuristic train accident in 2023. A nine-year-old girl weaves her grandmother's Kolam patterns into a story about geometry. A small child wonders aloud about the happy lemon on the kitchen counter.
Arty and the Train Accident began with Agastya, an eight-year-old who had never seen a train accident and wrote about one from imagination. The book, illustrated with the help of the DALL-E AI image engine, features a boy, a robot and an AI train, and revolves around a rescue mission.
Kalyani's Ant Problem came from a young girl who found geometry boring until her grandmother showed her Kolam. The result is a book that shows mathematics as a living tradition woven into daily life.
The Happy Lemon, Lima's story of a tangy little fruit that travels from tree to summer cooler, began as a school project. Rhythm Taal started when a child author gathered every toy instrument she owned and asked her parents if she could make a band.
At StoryWell, we believe children are writers, philosophers, observers and storytellers as well as readers. We take their voices seriously and polish their words without replacing them, and the books that result are ones other children love reading because they sound like them.
If your child has a story to tell, we'd love to hear it. Our services team works with young authors to turn their ideas into real, published books.
