Why We Need More Stories from India

Growing up in India means growing up among many cultures, languages and traditions. Yet many children's books in Indian bookstores are translations or adaptations of Western stories. At StoryWell Books, we believe Indian children deserve stories that reflect their own world.

Our books like 'Kalyani's Ant Problem' weave traditional kolam patterns into a modern story about geometry. 'KALI of the Coromandel Coast' tells a story of India's coastline and the resilience of its people. 'The Spice Spirit' celebrates India's culinary heritage.

When children see themselves in stories, they develop a stronger sense of identity and belonging. That is why we publish books that are authentically Indian in setting, characters and values.
